Lifepoint’s mission of making communities healthier extends beyond providing high-quality care at the bedside for the patients we serve. It also comes to fruition in meaningful ways through strategic partnerships with two important nonprofit organizations: Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and Special Olympics Tennessee. Our long-time support of these organizations continued in 2024, and we are incredibly proud of the impact we made together last year.
Second Harvest Food Bank is committed to providing equitable access to food and resources for the community to thrive. Since 2017, Lifepoint has partnered with Second Harvest to help fight food insecurity and educate the community about the link between nutritious food and good health.
In addition to our annual monetary contribution to Second Harvest, in 2024, our partnership highlights included:
- Addressing the unique needs of those with chronic health conditions:

- Supplying 9,624 trays of diabetic-friendly tray packs
- Providing 920 heart-healthy food boxes
- Preparing 918 diabetic-friendly food boxes
- Promoting 5,000+ nutrition education flyers

- For the 7th consecutive year, Lifepoint was the exclusive sponsor of Nutrition Month in March.
- Lifepoint was also a premier sponsor of Second Harvest’s 46th anniversary celebration.
Special Olympics Tennessee aims to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-style sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Since 2020, Lifepoint has partnered with Special Olympics to help support and protect the health of thousands of athletes across the state.
In addition to our annual monetary contribution to Special Olympics in 2024, our partnership highlights included:
- Completing 23 healthy athlete screening events
- Hosting the first-ever Special Olympics Fitness Conference
Supporting the national expansion of the Train 4 Life™ wellness program:

- 77 participants in “Train 4 Life” and fitness competitions
- 15 strength and conditioning coaches identified
- 10 fitness community partners established
