New Specialty Hospital Now Serving Patients in White Hall

Pine Bluff, AR and Brentwood, TN (May 30) – Jefferson Regional, Lifepoint Rehabilitation and Lifepoint Behavioral Health, affiliates of Lifepoint Health, celebrated the opening of Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital, a 76-bed rehabilitation and behavioral health hospital located in White Hall. The 87,000 square-foot facility replaces and increases the number of existing acute rehabilitation and behavioral health beds previously available at Jefferson Regional.

“I am proud to stand alongside our team of caregivers as we open the doors to patients,” said Mary Daggett, CEO of Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital. “My years at Jefferson Regional evidenced the impact that patient-centered healthcare has on a community. Today, we celebrate greater access to vitally needed specialty care, as well as our growing workforce of healthcare providers and our investment in leading-edge technology and treatment models that will serve rehabilitation and behavioral health patients in White Hall and throughout the region.”

Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital houses a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility and includes an additional 36 behavioral health beds. Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, will oversee day-to-day operation of the rehabilitation units and brings its personalized inpatient care model to the new facility, focusing on acute rehabilitation and recovery for patients who suffer from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, complex neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, multiple traumas, amputation and other injuries or disorders.

“The inpatient rehabilitation and behavioral health services offered at Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital mark a significant milestone for Southeast Arkansas,” said Brian Thomas, President & CEO of Jefferson Regional.  “This expansion not only addresses the ever-growing need for these vital services but also provides our community with convenient and accessible care. We're proud to be the first hospital of this kind in the region, ensuring that our residents have the support they need close to home.”

The facility’s behavioral health unit will be operated by Lifepoint Behavioral Health, also a business unit of Lifepoint Health. Units dedicated to behavioral health care are designed to create a therapeutic environment for patients and feature open, airy spaces with amenities that include spacious patient rooms, community areas, outside courtyards, and state-of-the-art clinical spaces to support the needs of patients and families. Treatment programs will support a broad range of mental health concerns.

“We have an exciting vision to expand access to specialty care in the communities we serve,” said Russ Bailey, President of Lifepoint Rehabilitation and Lifepoint Behavioral Health. “We are proud to see this take shape here in White Hall with both acute rehabilitation and behavioral health care now available to patients in a dedicated facility. Whether we’re treating a patient recovering from a traumatic brain or spinal cord injury in our acute rehabilitation unit or a patient managing post-traumatic stress disorder in our behavioral health unit, our goal is to return patients to their homes, families and lives with improved physical and mental health. I look forward to seeing all that we will accomplish in partnership with Jefferson Regional as we advance our mission of making communities healthier.”
