Lifepoint Health Publishes 2022 Companywide Community Benefit Report

Brentwood, Tenn. (July 12, 2023) – Lifepoint Health®, a diversified healthcare delivery network dedicated to making communities healthier®, has published its companywide community benefit report for the 2022 calendar year. The annual report highlights the many ways the organization continues to contribute to the health, economic strength and development of communities spanning from coast to coast.

Lifepoint’s 2022 community benefit report demonstrates the broad scope of the organization’s contributions, highlighting its efforts to meet the growing healthcare needs of communities across the nation. These efforts include welcoming new providers, adding and expanding service lines and continually investing in its facilities and healthcare technology. For example, in 2022, Lifepoint added more than 4,000 providers in a variety of specialties and made nearly $250 million in capital improvements, including the construction of new facilities, renovation of existing facilities, updated medical systems and machines, advanced equipment and more.

Additionally, Lifepoint donated more than $1.1 billion in charity care to those in need, demonstrating its commitment to ensuring everyone has access to the care they need, regardless of their ability to pay.

Lifepoint is also devoted to cultivating environments where physicians and providers want to practice and employees want to work. In 2022, the organization distributed more than $3.8 billion in salaries, wages and benefits for its more than 50,000 employees, while contributing more than $18.2 million in professional development and tuition assistance so its employees can have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skillsets, and improve the care they provide to patients.

Last year, the organization paid more than $329 million in local and state taxes, while also continuing its support of local activities, events and organizations committed to serving the region, including food pantries, charities, community chambers of commerce and much more.
