Community Medical Center, a Lifepoint Health facility, breaks ground on a new and expanded $17.9 million-dollar heart & vascular center. The project includes a renovation and a new 19,015 square foot expansion along with two cardiac cath labs, twelve exam rooms and expanded clinical areas.
“The population in Western Montana is not just getting older, it is also expected to grow among those 65+ over the next 10 years," said Bob Gomes, Chief Executive Officer of CMC. “We want to be prepared to care for these patients by ensuring easy access to cardiologists and providing the latest technology for life-saving care – all in a comfortable environment.”
The new, expanded center will be located adjacent to the current heart and vascular center on the Community Medical Center campus off South Ave. It will include a distinct non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic testing area, space for two cardiac catheterization labs, twelve new exam rooms and expanded clinical support areas.
Community Medical Center in partnership with Billings Clinic Heart and Vascular provides full-time interventional and non-invasive heart & vascular care, including 24/7 heart attack (STEMI) coverage, electrophysiology and cardiac ultrasound services. Preventive care and management of chronic heart conditions is also available in Deer Lodge, Polson, Ronan, Superior & Stevensville. Community Medical Center is the only hospital in Western Montana that is an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the American College of Cardiology.
