Missoula, Montana – (June 11, 2021) – Community Medical Center (CMC) announced today that Bob Gomes has been named chief executive officer (CEO), effective July 6.
“Bob is deeply committed to our mission of Making Communities Healthier, and we are excited to introduce him to CMC and the Missoula community,” said Sandy Podley, president of LifePoint Health’s Western Division, of which CMC is a part. “Bob’s understanding of and passion for community-based healthcare will be a valuable asset to the hospital and the community, and we look forward to everything Community Medical Center will accomplish under his leadership.”
Gomes joins CMC from Canyon Vista Medical Center, another LifePoint Health facility in Sierra Vista, Arizona, where he has served as CEO since 2018. Prior to joining LifePoint, he served in several executive leadership roles for other healthcare organizations, including as president of St. Charles Bend and Redmond hospitals, part of St. Charles Health System in Bend, Oregon; CEO of St. Charles Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Prineville, Oregon; and vice president of physician services of St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena, Montana, among others. Prior to his career in healthcare administration, Gomes served in the United States Air Force, where he retired as a healthcare administrator and held roles in various facilities both stateside and in Europe. Most notably, he was assigned as a healthcare consultant for the office of the Air Force Surgeon General, directing over 80 hospitals and clinics worldwide.

Gomes earned a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
