David Brash Named CEO of Logan Memorial Hospital

Russellville, Kentucky – (November 7, 2019) – Logan Memorial Hospital (LMH) today announced that David Brash has officially been named chief executive officer (CEO), effective December 2. Brash has served as the hospital’s interim CEO since May.

“David is a more than 30-year healthcare veteran whose passion for LMH and the Russellville community and firm commitment to our mission of Making Communities Healthier have already been a tremendous benefit to Logan Memorial,” said Cherie Sibley, president of LifePoint Health’s Central Division, of which LMH is a part. “We are thrilled to recognize the contributions he has made with this well-deserved promotion and look forward to his continued leadership.”

Prior to joining LMH, Brash served as vice president and CEO of physician services for Ballad Health in Kingsport, Tennessee, and as president and CEO of Wellmont Medical Associates in Kingsport, Tennessee before that. He also served in several other leadership positions at Wellmont Health System, including as system senior vice president, business development and rural strategy, and also as regional vice president and president, a role in which he oversaw the organization’s Mountain Region business unit. Earlier in his career, he served in leadership positions at several hospitals, including as CEO of Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital in Harlan, Kentucky; CEO of Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon, Virginia; and administrator and CEO of Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, West Virginia.

“As we conducted our search for the right person to step into this important role, it became clear that David was the perfect candidate,” said Ethan Holloway, chairman of LMH’s board of trustees. “His proven leadership abilities and keen focus on enhancing quality and safety for our patients have already had a positive impact on the health and well-being of our community. We are excited to have David guide LMH into the future as we continue to create a place where people choose to come for healthcare, physicians want to practice and employees want to work.”

Brash holds a Master of Science Management/Health Care Administration degree from Marshall University in South Charleston, West Virginia, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration degree from West Virginia Institute of Technology Community and Technical College in Montgomery, West Virginia. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

“I am thrilled to continue to call Russellville home and help strengthen LMH’s legacy of care today and for generations to come,” said Brash. “The road ahead is an exciting one, and I look forward to working alongside this wonderful team as we continue seeking ways to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve.”
