Caring Starts Here
We believe that in order to provide the highest quality care for our patients, we must first take care of our own -- our devoted employees who dedicate their lives to caring for the health and well-being of others. Established following the devastating flooding in Middle Tennessee which claimed the homes of several LifePoint employees in 2010, the LifeCare Disaster Recovery Fund serves as a means for employees to contribute financially to help other employees during times of need.
The LifeCare Fund is managed by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT), a non-profit organization that oversees the charitable efforts of companies and private individuals. Applications for funding are reviewed by non-biased, third party professionals at CFMT, and qualified candidates are given grants to help pay for vital living expenses such as rent and utility bills.
The LifeCare Disaster Recovery Fund has been a safety net for many in our LifePoint family, and we are committed to ensuring that these lifesaving funds never run dry.
The LifeCare Fund provides short-term, emergency support to LifePoint employees or eligible dependents who are facing serious financial hardship as a result of certain unforeseen and unpreventable circumstances, including the current COVID-19 pandemic. To date, the LifeCare Fund has helped more than 1,600 employees across our network of hospitals and the LifePoint Health Support Center by granting more than $2.8 million in financial assistance.
In 2020 alone, the fund granted more than $1.2 million to help employees weather financial challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
