Andalusia, Alabama (October 11, 2021) – Andalusia Health today announced that Brian Springate has been named as permanent chief executive officer (CEO). He has served as the hospital’s interim CEO since June.

“We are thrilled to welcome Brian into his new role as CEO of Andalusia,” said Cherie Sibley, president of LifePoint Health’s Central Division, of which Andalusia Health is a part. “Brian is a great healthcare leader. He has tremendous operational expertise paired with a strong clinical background and a dedication to community. We are confident that he is the right leader to take Andalusia into the future.”

Springate comes to Andalusia Health from Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital (LCRH), another LifePoint Health facility in Somerset, Kentucky, where he has served as chief operating officer (COO) since 2019. During his tenure at LCRH, he led several multi-million-dollar construction and renovation projects, the expansion of service lines, the recruiting of new physicians, and many staff development and community initiatives. Prior to LCRH, he served as CEO of Fleming County Hospital in Kentucky, COO of Logan Regional Medical Center in West Virginia and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of Bourbon Community Hospital in Kentucky. Springate began his career in healthcare leadership as director of nursing services at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Kentucky.

“In addition to his extensive operational and clinical experience, Brian brings Andalusia a genuine commitment to staff and ensuring that a hospital is a great place to work and build a career as well as a great dedication to ensuring that a hospital is an excellent community partner,” said Terry Powell, chair of the Andalusia Health Board of Trustees. “We’re excited to welcome him permanently to our community and to partner with him to create the next chapter in Andalusia’s future.”

Springate earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University, in Lexington, Kentucky, and a master’s degree in business administration from Florida Institute of Technology in Melborne, Florida.

“I am so grateful for the warm welcome I have received from the people of Andalusia and the hospital family these past few months,” said Springate. “Andalusia Health is a wonderful facility and a valuable asset to the health and well-being of the community, and I look forward to what lies ahead as we continue creating a place where people choose to come for healthcare, physicians want to practice and employees want to work.”
