Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Sewanee
Welcome to Winchester, a city at the foot of Sewanee Mountain in southern Middle Tennessee, where small town living is matched with convenient access to several major cities.
STRHS – Winchester is part of the Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, a regional network of hospitals and healthcare services serving communities in the southern Tennessee region. In association with its sister campus in Sewanee, the hospital provides inpatient and outpatient services at a 152-bed acute care facility, 46-bed skilled care facility and a number of physician practices.
The Winchester community enjoys a robust educational scene, featuring top-rated public and private schools, and a strong and growing economy, thanks to major employers like Nissan, Shaw Carpets and Arnold Engineering. The nationally acclaimed University of the South’s beautiful 10,000-acre campus is nearby.
Winchester surrounds beautiful Tims Ford Lake, a 10,700-acre lake regarded as one of the top bass fishing and recreational lakes in the Southeast. The accompanying Tims Ford State Park features almost five miles of paved trails for hikers and cyclists, a beautiful, L-shaped swimming pool and 12-foot diving pool, children’s wading pool, a bathhouse and a 52-site campground. The Bear Trace at Tims Ford beckons golfers with a 6,790-yard course designed by the Golden Bear himself, Jack Nicklaus, and recognized previously as one of the “Top Ten Places You Can Play” by Golf Magazine. The Jack Daniels Distillery is a favorite destination in nearby Lynchburg. And a host of cultural, recreational and entertainment activities are within comfortable driving distance, in Huntsville, Chattanooga and Nashville.
